15 Sets of Free Vector World Maps to Download

When it comes to vector world maps or any vector map, there are only a limited number of free resources that we can find online. I am speaking from experience because I also had problems looking for high-quality vector maps when I was working on a project that required me to put a world map on it. So instead of drawing from scratch, which would surely cost me not less than 48 hours, I decided to search for free vector world maps that I can download and edit. After a few search attempts, I got so frustrated because most of the maps that I found on my search results are mostly low-resolution gifs and jpegs and on top of that,  most of them have texts that are not editable. So, I spent another two hours looking for something that is high resolution enough for a print material I was working on.

So after three years of searching online, I decided to compile together the best vector world maps that I have found so far. 01. Outline Maps from Education Place

Maps of the world and maps of continents, regions and even maps of individual countries can be downloaded from this site. The maps are very detailed and in editable PDF format, which means you can load it in Illustrator or any drawing program and make some changes. However, these maps can be used only for classroom and personal use.

02. World Map Photoshop Shapes

Includes vector world maps as well as maps of US, Australia, and the UK. The maps are saved as custom shapes (CSH) in Photoshop. If you don’t know how to load custom shapes in Photoshop, the author also has a tutorial on how to do it.

You can opt for maps with borders or maps with main rivers. If you need to make a natural map (just world and Rivers), just delete the borders’ layer.
